Council calls for fight against food fraud to be stepped up

Brussels, 15/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 11 April in Luxembourg, the majority of EU Agriculture Ministers gave their support to Germany's approach in calling on the European Commission to step up the action against food fraud.

Germany wants the Commission to coordinate more pan-European control programmes, to quickly establish an EU reference centre for the authenticity and integrity of the food chain and to step up cooperation between the police, customs and food inspection...
