17/02/16 (Agence Europe) - Non-suite to Finland's oral health request. Despite the request submitted by Finnish health experts, the European Commission does not intend to set up oral health expert groups or joint action on this theme in 2017. This was the result of a report from the most recent high-level public health workgroup, published on 16 February. The Commission effectively informed Finland that “this question can be discussed during the regular meetings between head dental doctors”. It also said that “although oral health care is important, it is not one of the Commission's main priorities or likely to be the subject of joint action”. During one contribution made by Finland, the country deplored the absence of a point of information on the Transatlantic Investment Partnership negotiations (TTIP) during the meeting. (SPj)
