17/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - EU to provide €600,000 to support developing countries' customs reforms. On the sidelines of the 10th WTO ministerial conference in Nairobi, the EU pledged on Thursday 17 December to donate €600,000 to support developing countries in their efforts to implement the WTO trade facilitation agreement (TFA) and make their customs procedures faster and smoother. The support will be delivered in the framework of the trade facilitation agreement facility of the WTO that complements other EU-supported programmes underpinning the implementation of the TFA. It seeks to support the least developed and other developing countries to define their needs, and provides technical assistance for the implementation of their obligations under the agreement that was concluded at the previous ministerial conference in Bali at the end of 2013.
