On Friday 27 November, the European Commission announced that it will be releasing €5.4 million for projects relating to defence of fundamental rights, as a way of following up on its annual conference on fundamental rights, held in October. The Commission has published a call for projects in this connection as part of the “Rights, equality and citizenship” programme. The projects must be connected with fight against hatred in speech and crime or the exchange o f best practice in this domain. The deadline for submission of projects is 18 February 2016. (SP)
