26/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - New French PGI. On Thursday 26 November, the European Commission approved the application to register a new French protected geographical indication (PGI) - for “saucisson de Lacaune/saucisse de Lacaune” (a raw salami-type sausage) made in the Lacaune mountains, in the Tarn department. The sausage has the aroma and taste of a dried meat with a marked note of pepper due to its salt, pepper and nutmeg seasoning Thirteen of these products have been awarded prizes at the Paris general agricultural competition since 2012.
