Brussels, 18/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 18 November, the European Commission adopted the Spanish operational programme which sets out the use that will be made of support from the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF) for 2014-2020.
In Spain a total of €1.6 billion in public funding will be spent on the fisheries and aquaculture sectors over the seven years. The EU will fund €1.2 billion of this sum.
Fisheries will receive €352.5 million and aquaculture €206 million, €156 million will go to implementation of the common fisheries policy (CFP) and €274.4 million will be used to promote the marketing and processing of fisheries products. The Commission states that Spain will put in place measures to adjust its fishing capacity.
Bulgaria. The Commission adopted the Bulgarian EMFF operational programme on 16 November. This programme is worth a total of €113 million, €88 million of which will come from EU coffers. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
