02/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - Sefcovic travels to Portugal with Energy Union. On Thursday 2 July, European Commission Vice-President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic continued his Energy Union dialogue tour to the member states with a visit to Portugal. In Lisbon, Sefcovic was meeting Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho and Environment and Energy Minister Jorge Moreira da Silva, and was taking part in a joint hearing of the committees of the Portuguese parliament. Sefcovic was also reportedly visiting industry representatives, think tanks and civil society organisations active in the area of energy. “Portugal is on the right track to reach its 2020 objective on renewables, and has set up a green growth programme that is focused on the future. It can benefit from Energy Union thanks in particular to the increased work on interconnections for the Iberian peninsula”, Sefcovic said before leaving. (EH)
