01/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - Mogherini back in Vienna on 2 July for Iranian nuclear programme. During the evening of Tuesday 30 June, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini is to return to Vienna on Thursday 2 July for discussions on the Iranian nuclear programme. Mogherini was also in Vienna on Sunday 28 June to meet the Iranian minister and the ministers of the E3+3 (Germany, France, United Kingdom and China, United States, Russia - see EUROPE 11346). The negotiating teams were then tasked with working “immediately” on the final text of the agreement and with trying to close all the outstanding issues. The deadline for an agreement, which was set at Tuesday 30 June, has been postponed in order to enable discussions. On 30 June, the USA and EU indeed extended - until 7 July - the freeze of their sanctions on oil and petrochemical products, on trade in gold and precious metals and on financial transfers (see EUROPE 11347).
