Brussels, 19/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 18 June, the Commission sent a further reasoned opinion, taking the view that its national legislation fails to comply with the freedom to provide services set out in Article 56 of the TFEU.
Legislation in Tyrol prevents foreign ski instructors from accepting clients already present in Austria, thus limiting their right to provide services to clients they accompany from other countries. This restriction puts them at a disadvantage compared with Tyrolean ski instructors entitled to accept clients without restrictions.
The Commission had already raised concerns with Austria in July 2014. The arguments advanced by the authorities were not felt to be sufficient.
Austria will now have two months to comply with the Commission's requests. (Pascal Hansens)
