Brussels, 12/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 11 June, the board of the Anna Lindh Foundation - which works for Euro-Mediterranean inter-cultural dialogue - met under the chairmanship of Elisabeth Guigou. Guigou is the chair of the foreign affairs committee in the French National Assembly and is carrying out a mandate as head of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The session successfully updated a pluriannual programme (until 2025), which focuses on establishing greater cultural understanding. This “is crucial in the current context”, Guigou stated. The Foundation is involved in a “visibility” mission for close cultural understanding and fighting the lack of cultural knowledge on both sides of the Mediterranean. A second priority for the Foundation is youth and its place in society, along with the goal of giving women a heightened role in society. EUROPE will return to these very long-term objectives.
