Brussels, 01/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 31 March, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn hailed confirmation the same day of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This “will pave the way for the authorities at all levels to begin addressing the problems faced by the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly the high level of unemployment”, Mogherini and Hahn stated.
The authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina “must now work together to take the concrete steps needed to bring the country closer to the EU”, Mogherini and Hahn added. “Time to focus on reform agenda now”, Hahn tweeted.
Mogherini and Hahn also stated that the new governments at state and entity level “will play a key role, in accordance with their competences, in formulating and implementing the reform agenda on the basis of the written commitment that was endorsed by the parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina in February” (see EUROPE 11261).
Nearly six months after the elections (see EUROPE 11176), Bosnia and Herzegovina formed a new government on Tuesday 31 March. It is led by Denis Zvizdic from the Party of Democratic Action. Igor Crnadak becomes the minister for foreign affairs. (Camille-Cerise Gessant)
