Brussels, 01/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - In Prague on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 April, European Commission Vice-President for the Energy Union Maros Sefcovic kicked off a dialogue tour with the EU member states on plans for an Energy Union. The Commission proposed an Energy Union strategic framework on 25 February, which was then approved by the European Council on 19 March.
As part of this first round in Prague, Sefcovic will meet Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, the head of Czech diplomacy, Lubomir Zaoralek, and the Czech minister for industry, Jan Mladek. On Thursday, he will take part in the European Energy Forum, under the aegis of the Czech secretary of state for European affairs, Tomas Prouza, for discussions with the stakeholders of the energy sector, representatives of civil society and NGOs.
