Franco-German Juncker Plan projects to be unveiled in March

Brussels, 20/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - At the end of next month, France and Germany will unveil jont projects under the Juncker Plan that is looking to leverage €315 billion in investment over three years.

At a joint ministerial meeting in Berlin on 31 March, France and Germany will unveil joint projects under the Juncker Plan, namely a plan for digital development, energy policy, and research and integration programmes, explained the French president, François Hollande, on Friday 20 February after a meeting in Paris with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.

Angela Merkel said she was “happy” that the French government had managed to push through the draft Macron Law at the deliberation stage of parliament. Hollande said the law was not designed to please Brussels.

The Macron Law will, however, be taken into account in the assessment by the European Commission of the budget and macro-economic situation in France, due to be revealed on Friday 27 Feburary (see EUROPE 11256). (Mathieu Bion)
