Brussels, 27/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - Five satellite launches are expected to take place in 2015, according to confirmation from European Commission Vice President, Maros Sefcovic, during the opening of the seventh annual conference on European space policy, on Tuesday 27 January. Ten satellites are expected to be launched and put into orbit as part of the Galileo European satellite navigation programme and two others as part of the Copernicus Earth observation programme. At the end of the conference on Wednesday 28 January, the European Commissioner for Space, Elzbieta Bienkowska, is expected to reveal more details about the timetable for the launch and future of the Galileo programme, which suffered a setback at the end of August last when the two satellites put into orbit experienced problems.
