Brussels, 13/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 12 January, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini announced that the Foreign Affairs Council on 19 January would formally adopt the EU's comprehensive regional strategy for Syria and Iraq, and on the threat of Islamic State (IS). “During our last meeting in December [15th] we worked on a comprehensive strategy on Syria, Iraq and IS and (…) we will adopt it formally on Monday”, Mogherini said at a press conference in Dublin, stating that the final version of the document was ready. The foreign affairs ministers had asked the high representative of the EU to work on an EU comprehensive regional strategy for Syria and Iraq, and on the threat of IS, during the Council of 20 October.
