Brussels, 13/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - The results from the European Innovation Partnerships on Raw Materials (these partnerships aim to guarantee Europe sustainable energy supplies) are to be scrutinised during a two-day conference in Brussels on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 January. This plan was presented in September 2013 and outlines the action that stakeholders can take to stimulate innovation in the raw materials value chain (see EUROPE 10931). Nine hundred different undertakings responded to the call to meet up over these two days to present the state of progress of the 80 commitments that they had made in this connection. The Commission announced that progress would be outlined in an annual report and that a new appeal to take action in this sphere would be launched later this year. A scoreboard is expected to be published at the end of 2015 to highlight competitiveness in the sector, which will be based on a series of key indicators. (MD)
