12/12/2014 (Agence Europe) - Another meeting on nuclear negotiations on 17 December. The political leaders of the E3+3 (Germany, France, United Kingdom and China, United States, Russia) and Iran are to meet in Geneva for a one-day meeting on 17 December “to continue diplomatic efforts towards reaching a long-term, comprehensive solution” on the Iranian nuclear programme, the European External Action Service (EEAS) has announced. The political director of the EEAS, Helga Schmid, will represent the European Union, a European source told EUROPE. At the extension of the negotiations on 24 November 2014, Catherine Ashton (who has now become “special adviser” to High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in order to facilitate the nuclear negotiations with Iran - see EUROPE 11213) and Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had announced that the next meeting to continue the work would take place in December (see EUROPE 11204).
