Brussels, 11/12/2014 (Agence Europe) - At the meeting of the Special Committee on Agriculture (SCA), the Italian Presidency of the Council presented a progress report which will be put to the Agriculture Council in Brussels on 15 December (http://data.consilium.europa.eu/doc/document/ST-16700-2014-INIT/en/pdf ).
A number of countries, including France and Luxembourg, again raised the matter of the flexibility needed in terms of funding for the milk and fruit and vegetables schemes. Some member states (Luxembourg, Cyprus, Malta and others) wanted to highlight the problems encountered by the “small countries” in implementing the milk scheme (minimum level of funding to ensure the viability of the scheme). Questions were asked about restricting the budget for these schemes. (LC)
