Brussels, 04/12/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 3 December, the European Parliament's EPP Group organised an “inter-religious dialogue” meeting with the ambassadors of the countries belonging to OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation). The ambassadors were hosted by Mariya Gabriel MEP (Bulgaria) and György Hölvenyi MEP (Hungary).
The EPP group thus marked its commitment to “regular dialogue” with the OIC “in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony” and of increasing “trust and understanding on both sides”.
As part of the dialogue with Islam, the EPP Group was due to organise a debate the same day to which experts were invited to exchange views on “the origins of religious persecutions” and on “the Mediterranean and the threat of the Califat (IS) for the region”. (FB)
