Contrary to what was written in EUROPE 11210 regarding the meeting of European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström with the European Parliament's international trade committee on 3 December, Malmström mentioned the entry into force of the comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA) with Canada and not the ongoing negotiations with the US for a transatlantic trade and investment partnership agreement (TTIP). “It does take time with the CETA. We will have to do the legal scrubbing - normally it takes half a year - then the translation into all the EU languages, then the ratification process. Hopefully it can enter into force in 2017”, Malmström said in response to a question from Christofer Fjellner (EPP, Sweden). (EH)
