Brussels, 01/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 1 July, a new public-private partnership was launched aunder the Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework programme 2014-20.
€1.18 billion will be earmarked for the joint technological initiative, the Electronic Components & Systems for European Leadership (ECSEL).
The European Commission has just opened the first call for proposals, with up to €270 million in public aid. The field of research covers technology developments in electronic chips, in cyber-physical systems (an area close to robotics) and in smart systems and their integration into application areas for resource efficient transport, sustainable energy generation affordable health.
