MEPs want to ban sale of meat from cloned animals

Brussels, 21/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - MEPs on the European Parliament's environment committee want the EU to ban animal cloning and the sale of meat from the offspring of cloned animals, along with the import of reproductive tissue from clones. They made this clear in a draft resolution adopted on 20 February by 37 votes to 4, which calls for the development of methods for tracing and identifying cloned animals and their offspring, for example, by setting up an international database...
