Brussels, 03/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - Public consultation on the revision of copyright will be extended by a month, until 5 March, following “marked interest”, according to European Commissioner for the Internal Market Michel Barnier, speaking on Twitter on Thursday 30 January. The public consultation aims to obtain the points of view from a variety of stakeholders, such as consumers, artists, publishers, distributors and other parties, with regard to the challenges facing copyright. The consultation focuses on exceptions to copyright, harmonisation, territoriality and fragmentation of the copyright market. Given the substantial interest in the consultation, stakeholders requested more time to finalise their responses. (MD/transl.fl)
