Brussels, 05/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - The aim of a funding contract amounting to €185 million, signed on Wednesday 4 December between the region of Poitou-Charentes and the European Investment Bank (EIB), was to give young people in the French region of Poitou-Charentes the very best conditions for training and apprenticeship so that they might have the very best possible chances of success in life.
This is a large-scale project in terms of renovation and modernisation of infrastructure: 38 lycées, 7 professional establishments and 8 higher vocational schools are targeted. It is in support of the region's educational and environmental excellence policy with, in addition, the provision of infrastructure needed for quality professional and technical education, mainly for apprenticeship channels in very high demand in Poitou-Charentes. Energy efficiency is at the heart of the project with a view to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while supporting the environmentally-friendly economic activities of the region. (OL/transl.jl)
