Brussels, 05/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 4 December, MEPs from the Free Iran Intergroup called on the E3+3 (Germany, France, United Kingdom and China, United States, Russia), “especially the US, the European countries and High Representative” of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton “to stop making concessions to the Iranian regime in the nuclear issue and to demand complete implementation of Security Council resolutions, full cessation of uranium enrichment, halting plutonium production projects, and accepting the additional protocol and the snap and free inspection of suspicious sites”. In their opinion, in the agreement of 24 November (see EUROPE 10970), “unacceptable concessions” were made by the West - especially in allowing enrichment and declining unannounced inspections, which leaves the key to manufacturing bombs in the hands of the mullahs.
“The current agreement gives the Iranian regime the possibility of continuing its cheating and concealment”, the leader of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Maryam Radjavi, told the European Parliament. “In order to prevent the religious fascism ruling Iran from getting its hands on a nuclear bomb, and in order to avoid a war that this outcome would inevitably provoke, the P5+1 could and must have completely dismantled the regime's nuclear weapons programme”, she said.
