Nouy recommended to head bank supervisory board

Brussels, 05/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 5 December, the European Parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee gave French woman Daniele Nouy the green light to become the chair of the future bank supervisory board at the European Central Bank (see EUROPE 10972).

The recommendation needs to be confirmed by the EP's plenary next week.

The bank supervisory board will be made up of representatives of national bank supervisory bodies and be responsible for directly monitoring nearly 130 big banks in the eurozone once the bank supervision scheme is set up in November 2014 and once the health of said banks has been assessed.
