22/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - Nuclear talks continued in tense atmosphere. The talks between Iran and the E3+3 on Iran's nuclear programme continued on 22 November for the third consecutive day in order to try and find an agreement. According to a Western source, the situation was “quite tense” and it was difficult to know whether an agreement would be possible. The Iranian party stated that, while the points of view had come closer together, progress was nevertheless minimal - despite the serious resolve of the two parties. Russia's Minister for Foreign Affairs Serguei Lavrov was travelling to Geneva on 22 November, but the spokesperson for High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said that Ashton has not invited the ministers. She would do so, however, if there was a possibility of agreement. (CG/transl.fl)
