29/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - Summit confirmed for 19 November. While visiting Tokyo on 29 October, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Japan's Foreign Affairs Minister Fumio Kishida agreed that the next bilateral summit will be held in Tokyo on 19 November. The free-trade negotiations (the parties completed a third round of talks last week - see EUROPE 10951) will of course be the focus of the discussions. Ashton and her host also agreed that the EU and Japan should promote their cooperation in the areas of the economy and regional affairs, and on issues of security, Japanese media report.
