Brussels, 31/07/2013 (Agence Europe) - The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) will hold its 40th general assembly in Saint-Malo (Brittany, France) on 26-27 September. CPMR president, Jean-Yves Le Drian, is a member of Brittany's Regional Council and also a minister in the French government. To mark this fourth decade, the association has organised a special session on its agenda, which will be attended by Commissioner for the Internal Market Michel Barnier and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz (confirmation still awaited), where they will debate the future of the European project. Other sessions will bring together representatives from the European institutions and regions to discuss the new cohesion policy and the European budget. These sessions will be attended by European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn. The meeting will also debate the macro-regions and blue growth. (MD/transl.fl)
