19/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - Conferences on security. Pierre Vimont, the executive secretary general of the European External Action Service (EEAS), was in Algiers on 14 and 15 April for a series of conferences on security in the region. While there, he met Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci, the counter-terrorism adviser to the president of the republic, Rezak Barra, and other government members. Vimont said after his meetings, according to a press release, that “our analysis of the situation was the same, with the need to work on the main areas and aspects of the Mali issue, not only at the political and economic development levels but also on counter-terrorism”.
