19/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - Regional seat of EIB relocates to Dominican Republic. The regional representation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the Caribbean will move to the Dominican Republic. The host country agreement was signed in Brussels today by Ambassador Alejandro Ganzalez Pons on behalf of the government of the Dominican Republic and Pim van Ballekom, European Invesetment Bank Vice President, responsible for lending in the Caribbean. The new office will be located within the European Union delegation in Santo Domingo. The EIB has had a regional representation at Fort-de-France, in the Martinique, since 2007. The new office is expected to be opened following parliamentary approval of the host country agreement. (OL/transl.jl)
