On Thursday 27 September during her meeting in New York with President of Burma Thein Sein, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton reaffirmed the EU's support for the economic and political reforms in Burma/Myanmar. She congratulated Thein Sein's efforts. Ashton has invited him to come to Brussels. (CG/transl.fl)
