On 28 September, the European Commission extended the state aid and restructuring guidelines for struggling companies until new guidelines are introduced. The current, 2004, guidelines were due to expire on 9 October this year and the Commission is considering a review them (see EUROPE 8743). They were extended in 2009 as part of a state aid update programme. (FG/transl.fl)
