EU27 must stick to aid pledges, says CONCORD

Brussels, 26/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - As the European summit on 28 and 29 June draws near, a summit that is to confirm the EU's commitment to increase its official development aid (ODA) to 0.7% of GNI by 2015, a new NGO analysis of member states' aid invites the EU27 to reverse the alarming trend of cutting aid budgets and to ensure aid is focused on the fight against poverty rather than on the EU's trade and security interests.
