On Thursday 7 June, the EU management committee set the maximum for aid granted for the private storage aid for olive oil under the tendering procedure opened on 31 May 2012. The Commission had proposed to set: - the maximum aid for extra virgin olive oil at €0.65/tonne/day, covering a total amount of 413 tonnes; - the maximum aid for virgin olive oil €0.65/tonne/day, covering a total amount of 85,868.306 tonnes. As Regulation 430/2012 sets the global quantity up to which aid for private storage can be granted at 100,000 tonnes, new tenders to fill in the remaining 13,718.694 tonnes may be submitted until 19 June 2012.
