Brussels, 31/05/2012 (Agence Europe) - Unsurprisingly, the Competitiveness Council of 30-31 May did not come to an agreement on the seat of the future patents tribunal, a question that is currently blocking the whole matter. There was still no decision as to which town should host the central office of the future jurisdiction, with the United Kingdom and Germany challenging the compromise reached under Poland's presidency, which provides for a seat in Paris, and campaigning for the towns of London and Munich respectively. In line with the European Council conclusions of 30 January, the issue will once more be referred to the heads of state and government, who will have to reach an agreement at the European summit of 28-29 June.
