Brussels, 31/05/2012 (Agence Europe) - Poland was sent a reasoned opinion on Thursday 31 May for failing to inform the European Commission of all the necessary transposition measures for incorporating Directive 2009/72/EC on common rules for the internal market in electricity into national law. Member states had until 3 March 2011 to transpose the electricity and gas directives in the third energy package for the liberalisation of the domestic energy market. Poland now has two months to respond, after which time it may be referred to the EU Court of Justice. (EH/transl.rt)
