30/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - Accession - 12 Croat deputies to have “observer” status at EP. On Tuesday 17 April, the European Parliament will allow 12 Croat deputies to attend the plenary session as observers. The Croat observers are appointed by the Croatian parliament for preparing their country's accession to the EU. Of these, five may join the S&D, three the EPP, and one the ALDE. They will attend meetings of the committees and political groups, and may take the floor. They will not, however, have right of vote and will not be entitled to solicit posts within the Parliament. The observers will not be paid and will not receive any administrative allowances from the Parliament but will be granted a daily attendance allowance and reimbursement of their travel costs.
