Brussels, 30/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - Further to his meeting with the Albanian minister for European integration, Majlinda Bregu, the enlargement commissioner, Stefan Füle, welcomed, on Thursday 29 March, the Albanian government's adoption of a revised action plan in response to recommendations set out in the Commission's opinion. He underlined that the plan is a good basis for carrying out key reforms. In a press release, the Commission underlines that Albania must “make full use of its capacities in order to move ahead with reforms as regards the political criteria, rule of law and human rights”.
Stefan Füle explained that Albania's “achievements need to also include the swift conclusion of the electoral reforms and the revision of Parliament's rules of procedure, which would pave the way for progress in other areas as well”. He went on to underline the “importance of ownership of the reforms by all stakeholders and of the continuation of an inclusive and constructive cooperation and dialogue between government and opposition”.
