Brussels, 25/11/2011 (Agence Europe) - The Venezia region of Italy unveiled details in Brussels on Wednesday 23 November of it Su.Pa project (Successful paths, supporting the human and economic capital of migrants), co-funded by the EU, to help immigrants from Senegal return to their country of origin through an economic development project. A conference was organised in Brussels to promote the 36-month Su.Pa project with over €1 million in funding for immigrant communities from Venezia and Le Marche and fund recipients based in Senegal. The aim is to encourage the creation of further funds to cut the cost of sending money to Senegal and help immigrants obtain loans, explained the project organisers.
In Dakar (Senegal) the third EU-Africa conference on immigration and development was held on the same day to examine the Rabat Process launched in 2006 with a range of immigration and development initiatives part-funded by the EU. (SP/transl.fl)
