17/10/2011 (Agence Europe) - Head of Mission mandate extended. The Council of Ministers of the EU adopted a decision on Friday 14 October extending the mandate of the head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, EULEX KOSOVO. Under a second Council decision, the financial reference amount to cover the expenditure of the operation was extended until 14 December 2011. The mandate of Xavier Bout de Marnhac as Head of Mission of EULEX KOSOVO was extended until 14 June 2012. As the EULEX KOSOVO “will be conducted in the context of a situation which may deteriorate and could impede the achievement of the objectives of the common foreign and security policy”, the financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure until 14 October 2010 will be €265,000,000, and the financial reference amount intended to cover expenditure from 15 October 2010 until 14 December 2011 will be €165,000,000. The current mandate of EULEX KOSOVO runs until 14 June 2012. (LC/transl.rt)
