Brussels, 17/10/2011 (Agence Europe) - On 12 October, the European Commission adopted the annual report on the progress being made by Bosnia and Herzegovina which states that the overall pace of reform has been very limited. These were the conclusions expected by the country. “The report did not bring any surprises”, Ambassador Osman Topcagic, Head of Mission, told Agence Europe. He pointed out that “encouraging” progress had been made recently, on laws on public aid and the census and also on setting up an inter-institutional working group to implement the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on the country's constitution. Further talks on the formation of the government are expected to take place shortly. These measures, along with the stronger presence of the EU, could result in the stabilisation and association agreement coming into force and lead to further progress for the country along the path to EU membership, Topcagic said. “Progress could, we hope, allow the country to catch up with its neighbours”, he stated.
