Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, congratulated the government of the Maldives on Thursday 29 September for having ratified, on 21 September 2011, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. “With its decision, the Maldives once more confirmed its commitment to the rule of law”, she said.
