Brussels, 29/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - Institution twinning between the EU and Morocco, funded by the European Commission to the tune of €1.35 in 2011-2013, was launched in Rabat on Wednesday at a ceremony attended by EU ambassador Eneko Landaburu and Morocco's educating, training and scientific research minister.
The twinning will provide support for the Moroccan research system and help integrate it into the European Research Area through the approximation of legislation and standards, strengthening organisational and institutional capacity at the Moroccan research department, planning and validating an information and communication system for research, transferring know-how about best practice and methodology and approximation with the management methodology, programming mechanisms, promotion and making the most of the research programme by adopting EU practice. Morocco signed a technology and scientific cooperation agreement with the EU in 2003. (FB/transl.fl)
