Brussels, 30/08/2011 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission granted clearance on Tuesday 30 August to the acquisition of joint control of Mitsubishi Motors France (MMF) by Walter Frey Holding AG (WFH) of Switzerland and Mitsubishi Motors Europe (MME), of the Netherlands, belonging to the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation group by way of purchase of shares. WFH is active in the import and distribution of new and used motor vehicles of different brands, including distribution of original equipment spare parts. MME organises and coordinates the activities of its local subsidiaries which are in charge of the wholesale distribution of Mitsubishi-branded spare parts manufactured in different states of the European Economic Area. MMF imports and distributes Mitsubishi-branded vehicles and spare parts for France. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (O.L./transl.rt)
