Brussels, 15/06/2011 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission will host the first Digital Agenda Assembly in Brussels on 16-17 June. This first meeting, to be attended by over 1,000 representatives from industry, the research community, NGOs, member states' governments and the EU institutions, will take stock of progress made in meeting the targets of the Digital Agenda for Europe, adopted in May 2010. The aim is to determine the sectors where reform will have to be amended or speeded up, identify the challenges that lie ahead for implementation of the strategy and potential synergies among the various players so that further progress can be made. On the agenda for discussion are: the roll-out of high-speed broadband, cyber-security, safety of children online, the radio-electric spectrum for the deployment of wireless technology, cloud computing and copyright in the digital age.
