Brussels, 15/06/2011 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced on Wednesday 15 June that it was to open an in-depth investigation into the public funding of infrastructure projects at Leipzig/Halle Airport (eastern Germany). As Germany has failed to demonstrate that this was proportionate and justified, the Commission is concerned that this may confer an unfair advantage on this airport, which has become the European hub of DHL Express.
