Brussels, 20/05/2011 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on Thursday 19 May, the Council adopted a decision approving the employment guidelines of member states for 2011. Given that these guidelines were not adopted until October 2010, for four years, they will remain unchanged for 2011.
The guidelines for the employment policies form one part of the integrated guidelines, of which one part is composed of the broad economic policy guidelines (BEPG) for member states. The integrated guidelines contain five EU headline targets, of which three belong to the guidelines for the employment policies of the member states and concern labour market participation, the fight against social exclusion and poverty, and the quality and performance of education and training systems. Member sates shall take these guidelines into account in their employment policies. (G.B./transl.jl)
