20/05/2011 (Agence Europe) - Council adopts resolution on EU working plan for sport. The Sports Council adopted on 20 May a resolution on the fist European Union work plan in favour of sport for the period 2011-2014 in response to the Commission communication on developing the European sport dimension, presented in January this year. In order to implement the priorities developed by the work plan (defence of the integrity of social values in sport, development of economic aspects), the member sates and the Commission agreed to establish several groups of experts over the next three years. During the first half of 2014, the Council will assess implementation of the work programme on the basis of a report drafted by the Commission by the end of 2013. (I.L./transl.jl)
