According to the American magazine Newsweek, the former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has kept his Austrian nationality, may have his eye on the presidency of the European Union. Three and a half months after leaving his position as Governor of California, he is thinking about his next step. Terry Tamminen, who was the head of private office, told the magazine: “In the next few years, the EU will be looking for a much more high-profile president - somebody who can unify Europe. The French won't want a German, and the Germans won't want an Italian. How about a European-born person who went off to America and could return to be the Washington or Jefferson of a new unified Europe?” However, Arnold Schwarzenegger states that he does not yet have any definite plan for his next step.
